Stay...Stay...

We tried!! This was the best we could do for a picture of the girls without one getting up, looking away, or rolling over to pet he belly! Jade is getting big...when she went to the vet at 8 weeks old she weighed 14lbs. When I weighed her over the weekend (at 10 weeks) she weighed 19lbs. She is starting to get some coloring on her back. We are achieving housebreaking...we keep bells on the back door we take the girls outside. The last few days Jade has been "ringing" the bells to go out. No accidents in the house since, what a wonderful feeling :) She's a pretty smart cookie

Routines

We wish one could be established!! Jason and I work such crazy, different, not normal work schedules that it can really be a hinderance for the girls. We never get up at the same time every day or get home from work at the same time. Jason works all over the clock and I just refuse to get up at 4am if I don't have to on my days off. Feeding schedules are non existant. I try to keep them fed every day within the same 3 hour time frame...but sometimes that is hard. The girls are adjusting very well, to us and to each other! Someday we will be on a schedule and not know what to do with ourselves. Until then, we are taking each day as it comes!

what was that?!?

We didn't think Jade could get up on the couch by herself yet...well today she proved me wrong :) As I was in the kitchen, attaching the beaters to my hand held mixer, Jade was peacefully laying on the floor on my feet. So, I put the ingredients in the bowl and turn on the mixer...WHAM...she high-tails it out of the kitchen, full speed toward the living room. As I turn the corner to see where she went, she is up on the couch, staring at me! I walk back into the kitchen, chuckling, she is off the couch back in the kitchen. Lets try that again...start up the mixer...WHAM...she out of there...back up on the couch!! Same thing happened with the electric mini chopper. I can't wait to see what the vacuum does to her.

P. S. Jade successfully, to our knowledge, slept through the night...atleast she didn't wake us up!!

naps!

Naps are the best :) Now I know what a mom (of human children) feel like with the "kids" go down for a nap...halleujah! This is the time of your day that you can make dinner, clean the house, pick up everyones toys, and collect yourself. Now, trying to figure out when I can use the vacuum is the next challenge, without waking them up!

adjustments!

Lets just say we are all adjusting!! Jason and I are trying to keep Jade from eating our shoes, chewing our coffeetable, and peeing OUTSIDE the house. Tess is trying to keep Jade from taking all her toys, sleeping in her bed, and eating her dinner. Now Jade...she is loving every minute of it :) She has been sleeping good in her crate at night, as long as we tucker her out pretty good and she is pretty much asleep on the floor when we are ready to put her down! Meal times and potty times are sometimes a challenge with both girls...they like to eat each others food or play one one is attempting to relieve herself...great times! But in the end...we are all loving each other more and more :)

She's here!!

Well, we expected our wait for the new puppy to be longer...but news came last night that we could bring her home!! yay!! we went this morning to get her and we have all be getting acclimated :) I think Tess is under the assumption that we have ruined her single dog life! She has been spending some time alone in her crate, which is a little unusual for her. She shares with the puppy very well...I should say is patient when the puppy takes her ball! We named the new little one Jade. She listens fairly well (we have only had her home about 6 hours). Jade is definately going to be a daddy's girl...she follows Jason all around!! Precious :)

Hello!!

I thought I would start a blog for my dogs!! Why not, I don't have kids yet and my pups are my kids at this point in my life :) We currently have a 5 year old yellow lab and we are waiting for a new puppy to arrive to us any day now!! The puppy was born May 19th! we have a wonderful arrangement with a breeder near us (jason has great connections!) that we house these dogs while they are still breeding puppies, then when the girls are through having litters, we can keep them as our own! Its a great arrangement for a fullbred dog who needs a great home, even when their calling is through :)

Lets start off first with Tess!! She is a lovable, sweet, playful yellow lab. She joined our home right before Christmas time 2007 and has moved her way into our hearts and into the hearts of our friends and family!! She snores, sleeps, licks, is leary about the stairs and only goes up or down if she absolutely has to, loves to lay at your feet, always wants to go outside, enjoys walks at the park and lays at her food dish to eat! She has a red ball in the house that she very rarely is without. When she goes outside, her frisbee is her first stop if we don't redirect her to go potty first!!
Awaiting the new puppy to post photos...we can't wait for her to come!!
